Blizzard Releases World of Warcraft Mobile Armory for iPhone
The World of Warcraft Mobile Armory [Free - iTunes Link] for iPhone is a free application from Blizzard that will help you stay on top of your game.
The Mobile Armory app includes many useful features.
- Search for and view any character, item, guild, or Arena team in World of Warcraft.
- Access your in-game calendar of events.
- View achievement-point leaderboards.
- Plan out talent specs using the fully functional talent calculator.
You can think of the app as your personal WOW organizer. Now planning out your character’s build has never been easier, with access to item databases and talent calculator you’ll be able to experiment with many different builds.
This isn’t Blizzard’s first App Store release, they also created a handy dandy security app, Mobile Authenticator. The app basically turns your Battle.net and WOW accounts into moving targets by constantly changing your password, but of course you’ll always know what the current password is via the Mobile Authenticator app.
It’s awesome how Blizzard is releasing all these useful apps for the iPhone, but what I’d really love to see is some Blizzard games make their way into the App Store. I could definitely see Warcraft II being ported to the iPhone. Gameloft has already proven how viable RTS games are on the iPhone with their recent release, Rise of Lost Empires, which already looks a lot like Warcraft.

Hey. I just activated my mobile authenticator and for me, it is not possible to log in to mobile armory. It keeps telling me: id or password incorrect. Or so. Gay!!
The iPhone App Review has done a review of the WoW Armory for iPhone that you can find here: http://www.theiphoneappreview.com/08/world-of-warcraft-mobile-armory/
So if you use the authenticator and the mobile armory, both for the iphone, how can you log in to the mobile armory? I mean, you’d have to have your authenticator up and your armory app up at the same time, not really possible as far as I can tell. But I could be an iphone noob.
That’s definitely a good question, I guess you just have to be really fast. I don’t really see any other way around it besides disable mobile authenticator all together. If anyone else out there already uses both Mobile Authenticator and Mobile Armory apps, please let us know if you had trouble with this issue.
