Itty-Bitty Games released Keep Defenders [$2.99 - iTunes link] for the iPhone and iPod touch. Keep Defenders is a mix of tower defense and real-time strategy. Your goal, as the game name implies, is to defend the keep from enemy soldiers. To aid you in your quest you’ll have three defender types to choose from soldiers, knights and archers. Keep Defenders consist of ten levels spread across three campaigns. The game also includes a variety of landscapes such as grasslands, snow and desert.

Like tower defense games, you’ll face wave after wave of enemy soldiers. As you eliminate them you’ll gain additional funds to grow your army of defenders. There’s also an RTS element to Keep Defenders, you’ll have full control over their movement and positioning, as opposed to tower defense games where defenders remain stationary. You’ll be able to zoom in/out with pinch gestures, touchscreen taps to select units or even create a drag box to select multiple units.
